yeah id say stick him in with the rock, austin. better chance of him not starving in there, and i really doubt he will contribute much to the detritus population. and i think he'll be fine 'in the dark'...do you have the whole tank covered with paper or something or can the room's light get into the tank and help him see? he should be fine with that.

Clownfishman...you'll need to use some Selcon or other supplement to soak your brine shrimp in before feeding. They have basically zero nutrient value on their own. Better yet, feed mysis instead of brine shrimp.

As long as the water params are fit, yes I'd move him in with the lotsa rock. These fish rarely eat prepared foods. I've heard of a few Scooters taking mysis or brine, the former is more nutritious. They can still suffer from malnutrition on brine, especially if it's not enriched.
You could try getting some live brine, gut loading it with plankton or Selcon and he *might* take it. Don't bother with live brine unless you do plan to enrich it. But I'd still think that it would fare best with the more rock and therefore more food.

I add a bit of selcon to the cup of saltwater that I thaw my mysis in. I don't feed live brine shrimp, so I'm not sure how the whole gut loading thing works. Maybe someone with more experience in this area will respond.
