Scissor Tail gobies!

Hi there! I am thinking about getting some scissor tail gobies and our LFS has about nine in a group and they look so cool together!

LFS is going to sell me 5 for $25 and wonder if any of you guys have these gobies and what do you think in getting them as a group and I have read to form their own hiarchy without problems!

You know that I love my scissortails. 5 for $25----is that a piece or $25 for the group? If its for the group, that's a steal....

I have two---had three, but one didn't make it (he's MIA)....the three got along fine and the biggest one had been in the tank for several weeks when I added the other two.

I think a group of 5 would be fine. I believe that read somewhere that they are more comfortable in groups.

they are a neat schooling fish. if you can handle the bio-load i would say go for it. MAKE SURE YOUR TOP IS ON WELL!!! they are amazing jumpers. if spooked they are gone! leaping everywhere.

That is a great price and no shipping either. From what I have read on them (not much) they do better in a small school as jodi stated and do get along nicely. They are on the list of fish to get for the new tank. As well as some rainfords and bar. good going

Wow Johnny - they don't know what they are giving away - they *cost* more than that!

Go for it -- they are great fish. As mentioned above, make sure the top is covered... they don't call them "dartfishes" for nothing.

The other day I was at the front of the shop and I heard an eggcrate cover rattle.... I looked over and I had a blue gudgeon on the floor! Ran over, scooped him up, tossed him back in... he's fine

Thanks everyone for the info! As you may know I have an open tank except for the 12" glass brace in the middle of the tank!

So it may be a problem when I get these little guys! Well will see how it goes!
