Yeah, I work at a fish store and we have a blue boxfish that has been there for about two weeks and every time I scrape algae or walk by his tank he spits water at me.

I was considering getting a Valentini Puffer, but was worries that he/she might nip at the soft corals, and that my snails and crabs would be gone due to the puffer's presence?? I have a lot of LPS and SPS... think I could pull off having the cute little guy?
I tried one in my 55. He was adorable, especially when he would puff up. He was good with my fish but used the reef as his buffet. He devoured all my nassarius and margarita snails, peppermint shrimp, emerald crabs, two queen conchs, and was making life miserable for my wesophila open brain. Don't recommend them for a reef!

i'm inclined to think that bottom line is that they will taste-test everything eventually, and if they decide it tastes like candy you won't have any left, and quickly.

i've been waffling back and forth about wanting a tank setup just for things like puffers, boxfish or toadfish.... *sigh*
