Gorgeous fish...how big is the one you got? How big do they get? Are anthias the ones that require several daily feedings or a large tank with enough pods to make them survive?

mine is probably a little over an inch. they require 2-4 small feedings per day and like to hide. they dont like terribly brightly lit tanks. i have powercompacts just over 3 watts per gallon. and lots of places to hide. I think he will do fine, i sure hope so anyways!!! this one was a the store for three weeks and looks and acted healthy and active and normal. they can get up to 5 inches.

glad to see you did your research.
good luck, keep the lights low for a couple of days to get it used to the environment and get it feeding. then you can ramp up the lights again.

creepette, I just got the same fish, about a week and a half ago. Mine is about 2 inches long. He will eat mysid shrimp, nothing else so far. My problem is that he is very apprehensive about eating, and my clowns, cleaner shrimp, and flame angle eat most of the food before he gets any. I have to put the food in and move away from the tank to get him to come out of his cave and feed. They are beatiful fish, good luck with yours.

hey all. well i checked on him this am and he was hiding under a rock (good thing for bare bottom tanks, i can stick my head under the stand and check out the view from below!). then when i came home he was hanging out on the right side of the tank in the water column just chilling out. i fed blender mush and mysis shrimp and he ate a few pieces of whatever it was (not sure if mysis or mush) and hasnt seemed too timid. he looks like someone gave him a hella hard time cuz his fins have little chunks missing but nothing too serious. he just knows to say on the right hand side of the tank (away from the dottyback). i took some pictures will post in a second. oh, and i guess he is closer to two inches head to tail. you can see in the pic his poor wittle fins

ha, and you can see the evil terrorizing dottyback looking in the background. he hasnt tried to attack him since ive been home though. luckily the tiny LMB I recently bought keeps him (the dottyback) in his place.

That sure is a beautiful fish...I really need a bigger tank! my little 15 gallon nano just doesn't have the capacity, but it sure does look nice when things are going well! Anyway...good luck with your baby beauty SC!

Lawn mower blenny maybe? I'm not sure...Large mouth bass sounds about right at this hour with the amount of studying I've been doing...
