Mr. Squirrelfish meets Mr. Lionfish

This is now my favorite all time photo. I was wondering why the Lionfish wasn't eating the feeder I put in today. That is the tail of a 2" squirrelfish. Those squirrelfish have some serious little spines as I'm sure the Lion just found out. MM

Oh boy, that pic looks waaaay too familiar.

I once put a lion in one of the shop tanks where I was sure all the fish were too big for him to want to eat them. Wrong! The lion swam around for the rest of the day with 2" of wrasse tail hanging out of his mouth. Sigh.

Good pic though

That pic should get hobbyists attention if they want a lion fish in with others!

Cool

When I had my lionfish about 10 yrs ago he was eating 2 4-6" feeders per day. I wisely had never put anything else in the tank with him except his food.
****ed fire, saw one similar size (pricing for the insurance) that one was going for $500 in 92.
They do get big, and will eat every thing in the tank except another.
