It Worked! It Worked!

My hubby caught the $(*#&$^ psuedo!

I thought he was nuts but it worked....to those of you who are fairly new to the board we've been trying to catch our bicolor pseudo for about 3 months now. Tried food in a glass/bottle, tried hooking him...you name it. This sucker was way fast & smart. So last week I told him if he had one more chance and then I would be partially tearing the tank down to catch him.

So my hubby takes a clear 2 liter bottle & drills holes in the bottom & cuts a "window" in the side. He then hung a treble hook from a string hanging inside the bottle. (We tried just dropping the food into the bottom...but he kept circling & trying to get at the food from the bottom instead of entering it.) After about 20 mins he went in and when we pulled the bottle up the holes in the bottom created a vaccuum so he couldn't get out. Made a minor mess....but well worth it! WHOO HOOO!

Picked up some peppermints shrimps yesterday......good by aptasia! The only bummer is the LFS I took the psuedo to only gave me $6 credit when I had paid $20 for him...won't be going there again.

Thanks....man what a relief. (Although one of my bangaais bit the dust during the night before we caught him....probably from too much stress!) Even my 4 year old was running through the house yelling "Yea!" (When his preschool teacher came for a home visit, he of course showed her the tank & named off all of the corals & fish. When it came to the pseudo his comment was "And that's the MEAN fish. We're trying to catch him & take him back.")

Yeah Doug...I was going to complain but I wasn't feeling too well (a little hung over) & the kids were getting cranky. But the manager will be getting a phone call from me today.

I forgot the camera at home but I'll post some pics from the glorious event tomorrow.

Congrats on catching that MEAN fish!

I agree, $6 isn't a lot of credit but.... maybe he has trouble selling those pseudos these days. LOL

Good luck with the pepps; hope they are hungry!

Congratulations on the catch Allyson!!! Should give the hubby some credit here too!!
I always get half price on store credit when I bring something back to the LFS! Anyways sounds like a celebration is due in your household! Maybe a cake with a pic of the little bugger on top! Johnny
