ID this wrasse please

We got this wrasse in the shop, and I have never seen one. The wholesalers sent to us under the name "anampses", which we all know is a general name for a type of Wrasse.

So...has anyone seen or had one of these?

Here's another pic. This guy is only about 4" long, has red hue on his tail and his fins.

Looks like a tamarin wrasse to me. Pretty!

Gorgeous fish but hard to keep

That Wrasse is a Anampses chrysocephalus or a Redtail tamarian wrasse which is the female the male coloration would be very different. The female could eventually change into a male if no other Redtail tamarian wrasse was present in the system. This fish is very difficult to keep and I would not recomend this at all because they are difficult to feed and usually wither away and die. I have to say it is cool to see different and unusal fish but stores should not have to carry a species that will not make it in a home aquarium.
