got me a hawkfish

yeppers, i got me a hawkfish today! the lfs that ordered it for me, had it labeled as red banded hawkfish, which is the same as blood red hawkfish, i believe. the hawkfish is very active, perching about on the live rock, i fed it some frozen mysis shrimp about an hour after it was in the tank, and it greedly ate i also added 5 green chromis, 300w titanium tube heater, 1800 mag-drive pump, and another 25lbs of live rubble for the refuge.
i put my wallet in the deep freeze, its gotta cool down!

Nice fish! I love how they perch. Glad to here he adjusted so quickly. I got a long nosed hawk a couple of weeks ago. I love the way they perch.

Awsome fish!! I really love hawkfish, but I HAD cleaner shrimp(until the sallylightfoots ate them ) so I couldn't have them. From what I've heard they will eat any kind of shrimp. I love them though! Sweet!

Hard to say, you can always find out the hard way!
Maybe if he's well fed he'll stay away! Maybe...

i am keeping my hawkfish well fed on krill now. i haven't had a problem yet with it harrassing any of my 3 cleaner shrimps yet, but, the hawkfish is still new to my tank. i would suspect sooner or later i will loose a shrimp to his hunger craving. but there are alot of hiding spots in my reef for the shrimp to take cover.
