Question

Damsel Behaviour??

Hi all!

I have a yellow tail, blue Damsel, has been in a 55 gallon with a Vanderbuilt Chromos for about a month. (yup, only 2 fish) They get along pretty well, they each stick to their own side of the tank.

The past few days, the damsel has been "digging" around the live rock, I think he has been swishing his tail, and making pretty good sized holes. Is this normal? What's he looking for?

thanks for any info you can share!

In my experience back when we had a yellow-tail damsel, this was quite normal for him. He later lived in the cave he made.

We have a couple of yellow tail blue damsels that do the same thing. I think they are just decorating their personal space a little. I would not worry about it unless it looks like they will dig enough to bring down your aquascaping.
