Color transformation of my Emperor Angel
Here's my Emperor angel back in early March...he spent the first two months in my refugium.

Yep...he's in the main tank now. I kept him in the refugium while I tested his appetite for corals. The only thing that he liked was my scolymia...which was moved to the refugium when he went into the main tank. He is hand tame and readily comes to the surface. He should be easy to remove if his tastes change in the future.

I recieved him from a reefer who could no longer keep him back in March. From what I understand, he had him as a small juvenile that took about 6 months to get to the above first photo after he first started showing signs of the change.

Dad, He is in a 500 gal tank. A 75 would be fine for juvenile; but, not an adult.

That's a fine emperor Casey. When you see that top fin begin to lighten and yellow, you'll have about 8 -12 months for full transformation. From what I understand, the transformation begins when the fish hits the 3 - 3 1/2 inch mark.
