Well, I had planned on putting egg-crate under the rock to hold it up, but only towards the back of the tank. The front side of the tank would not have any eggcrate under it, allowing for burrowers if I ever decided to get one. The end result is that the rock work should be steady, but the front should still have a nice open sand bed.
Ok so an engineer goby is out, however I thought they were well known for destroying substrate. Are there any of these neat little home makers that builds a single burrow and lives there only? Im not dead set on having one, I just want to explore every option before giving up on one of my favorite animals. Since the primary purpose of my tank is keeping corals, not a single fish species if its a sure NO-NO then I will just forget the goby. If I have to go that route I will get a bi-color blenny instead.
