Make sure you feed it meaty foods. If you have aggressive fish in your tank, I would be wary. I loved mine to death but it can find the smallest hole and/or overflow tube. The are almost as good as the snowflakes for escaping a tank.

I fed mine a combination fish mush but it actually really liked the formula 2 products for angel fish. Not sure why but he would make a bee line for the small cube (I cut mine up into 8ths) and just seemingly suck on it until It was digested I guess. Mysis was the other thing he seemed to enjoy.
Be careful that your rockwork is glued together and sturdy. My jawfishes have at one time or another toppled some of my rock work until this point my rock work is stable on the glass (actually an eggcrated bottome) where they can dig under it or supported with pieces of PVC pipe.

If you're going to put a jawfish in your tank, consider the yellow head...much less expensive and very hardy.

I've had my blue spotted jawfish (Rocky) for around six months and he is my favorite fish. Very entertaining and a great demeanor in the tank. When first introduced, he went into hiding for 2-3 days. Was very worried, but then he found a spot in clear view to call home. Initially, he was a little skittish around aggressive fish, but has slowly become more comfortable. Stays mainly near his tunnel and have had no problems with jumping. Does move rock around and has had to relocate several times, but has always picked a spot close to his original home. Definitely recommend the blue spotted jawfish to all.
