Anyone used Sweetwater Zooplankton

Thoughts on the zooplankton. I am currently feeding DT Phyto, Tahitan blend, freeze dried phyto, coral heaven, frozen brine and Formula Two and Reef flakes. Not all at once... I like to give my fishes and corals some variety in food source. I only feed DT when I get around to buying it. The best source I have is 15 miles away. I was just wondering if there are any advantages to feeding zooplankton. Heathier fish or increase in coral growth or coloration.

Thanks

My fish love the zooplankton. Once it is opened it needs to be refrigerated, and wont last long in the fridge, but I will take a used container of frozen invertibrate food and fill the cubes with the zooplankton and freeze it. It lasts fine in the freezer along with the other foods.

I use it and the fish seem to really enjoy it. As kennyb said, I also freeze it into cubes as the bottle is only good for a few weeks in the refrigerator.

Thanks. Just picked up 4 jars. Buy 1 get 1 free from Petco. Guess they are good for something...NOT!!! Just another question. Are the daphnia small enough for baby Bangaii to consume. I have an expecting mother. The eggs have been in her mouth for about 2 weeks and they look like they are about to hatch/release from the mouth. Looking from her mouth. I'm hoping to catch the babies and confined them to a separate tank, but feed them the zooplankton. Thoughts?

I use the Sweetwater Zooplankton but there is nothing mentioned on the container about how long its good for in fridge. I have had it about 1 year and the fish still go nuts over it. Am I wrong to feed it now. Where did you guys get the shelf life from? Thanks

I havent used the Sweetwater zooplankton but i do use the DT's phyto, I would guess it will have a fishy, marine aroma but if iuts overpoweringly stinky, prolly not a good idea to feed it no more

Phytoplankton is a necessary nutrient for your system as a whole. Most corals will benefit from some phytoplankton, but most important are the other creatures that you don't directly feed, the ones that make your live rock and sand beds interesting, you know, the little sponges, featherduster/worms, those really cool things that you have no idea what they are but look cool (the stuff that people without tanks don't see)they need to be fed also.

DT's seems to be a good choice, also Golden Pearls seem to be rising in popularity.
I'm sticking with these two until Dr.Shimek's test results are all in.
