anyone had luck with a Rainford goby and hair alge?

Hello all,

Has anyone had luck with a Rainford/court jester goby and controling hair alge?

Any comments on them period? Even beyone their reputation of eating hair alge?

Reason being, I just started seeing a few patches of green hair alge in my tank. Nitrates at 0 and Phosphates at 0 but then again it is hard to read the testkits when your color blind like myself.

I have done the basics... block natural sun, frequent water changes, cut way back on feeding etc... My red tip hermits and long spiny black urchin eat it but I dont want to let it get out of control....

All comments welcome and appreciated.

Thanks all...

All the rainfords I have seen appear to be picking at pods and other zooplankton that flourishes in patches of algae. They rend not to thrive in newer clean tanks

My Rainford only sifts sand for pods and occasionly picks them off of the rocks. Ive never seen him eat any algae. He doesnt even eat food that i put in the tank. I hope the pods are enough for him.

I never saw my rainford eat algae, but after two months he jumped and I've avoided any more.
