Hey Yoshi 22,

Angels for the most part are not considered reef friendly. Some people have had luck with the dwarf angels like the flame for instance. If you have SPS in your tank, IMO even the dwarf ones are too risky.

I actually posted this same question a couple of weeks ago and got the same feedback as above from a lot of reefers.....

Basically I guess logic would tell us that since angels live off of live coral and rock inhabitants on the reef....that would be their food of choice if available in our tanks as well. I think I would stick to tangs etc......

I have to put in one good word...
I have a potters angel and he doesn't bother anything except the other fish... he thinks he rules the tank. But other then a couple of angels I have heard that they are very risky. Potters and the c. argi ( oh what is the common name of that!?) are the two I have heard for sure.

There are people who put the larger angels in their tanks, but I won't be the one to tell you to try it It all depends on the individual fish.

I have a C. argi in my tank and she ate all the cool lime-green, pink and orange sponges off the rocks but I was expecting that, it's her natural diet. She hasn't bothered anything else, but that's my fish; I can't say the same for the next C. argi someone buys.
