Vitamin C and Garlic

I want to keep everyone health and happy in my tank and would like to know the "inns and outs" of using these two items for a preventive measure, and as a cure.
What do they work "on" and what will they prevent.

Thanks.

Okay so I've been reading way to much.

Just curious how people dose these products?
Is selcon all you need for the Vitamins C etc. (Bear in mind here that I'm feeding mysis shrimp, formula1, home mush(salmon, clams, raw shrimp, scallops and a piece of white fish and seaweed selects) to my captive tank mates.

Wind, I find selcon to be a pretty good all inclusive product. Vitamin C is an acid based compound so I doubt that it keeps well in a salt environment.
As far as the garlic there are several theories put forth, none of which I have any experience with. Horge posted on it a while back, I think I archived it if you can get in

Uhmm, you can try this...

Garlic in the Marine Aquarium

Gotta admit... it's not really a how-to (which would be infinitely more useful to the average hobbyist), but rather 'fuel for the fire' when it comes to discussing the merits of garlic use.
