need to move tank: best way?
I need to move my tank out from the wall a few inches. What is the best way? It's packed full w/ live rock, but the stand it is sititng on has wheels. Do I just drain it maybe half way and then roll it, or am I going to have to empty the whole darn thing?

well if it is a glass tank and when you move it with rock, water, etc. in it if you happen to get any part of the tank unequal then the tank might crack!!!!
Good Luck

Since the stand has wheels it shouldn't be too hard, but get several strong people and move it out very slowly, using the bottom to do most of the moving and a couple people to stabilize the tank . f they dont break it pizza and beer is a good reward

It's a 20g. I have maybe approx. 35 lbs. of LR in there. Actually, I guess I could take the top pieces out so they won't fall.

Freckles, get your hubby and at least a couple strong friends, You want to exert as equal a force as possible

As Doug pointed out equal pressure, the tanks is small but still weighs at least 70 pounds half full, and on a twenty the glass is this. Maybe have a back up tank there in case the worst happens. If all goes well you could always return the tank

Glad to hear it! When we sest up our first tank, we put it in one place, but decided a week later that it would be better in another part of the room. So we scootched that little 29 all the way across the room... no problems if it's a little tank.
I was actually imagining a 6' monster tank... that's when you curse and swear and deal with it, 'cause that thing isn't going anywhere.
