Level off a stand ???'s
,,,,,Hey all, as i go thru this experience of the new tank (200) in my basement , was wondering what to use , if needed to level same off.it's gotta be something to last the "test" of time , as i don't plan on removing same until after i die,,(nice loophole , huh? )
the basement floor is poured concrete, level as far as i can tell so far, will be put near a wall, figger i might need to shim it to level,,,,want something to last over the years of probably water and time ,,,,and 2 tons o' weight ,,,,any hints/ideas? thanks

Um, we thought we had our 135 level, but realized this very evening that it isn't. (Crooked water level! AArgg!)
Hasn't broken on us yet, and it's been in place for eight months. (Knock on wood.) We shimmed it and used levels, so I'm not sure how it happened.
No help, really, but good luck,
Danielle

Galvanized steel shim shingles. Will probably rust on the edge, but not under 4000 pounds. MM

Along the lines of the steel shims, I've used steel electrical box covers. They're about 3" square and do a nice job of leveling tanks. They're relatively easy to conceal under the stand and are cheap. HTH!

The steel shim shingles measure 4" x 6" and are found in the roofing department of good 'ol Home Depot. Individually or a pack of 25 for five bucks. They are really thin so you can get pretty precise with your adjustments. MM

Thanks MM,,,was planning on going there in a few days anyway(wife left a couple o checks for me, b4 she went down to Indy)will check out the shims, pick up a r-maid garbage/ water make up can, to go on the dollie i got for same,,,,,it's gonna be GREAT to roll water over to the tank, instead of lugging 2 -5g buckets of w/c water up the stairs,,,, power head in da tank ,,,,pump out,,,,roll , dump,,,roll new water to tank ph in can, pump out ,wat a concept! heck! had a better idea! PVC pipe to tank from water make up area, a hose and pump on either end .voila! not sure if i'ts old age, getting wiser,OR lazier that makes me get these brain cramps , and think of this ! LOL.
