How flat does an acrylic tank stand have to be?
My new propagation tank will be my first acrylic tank. The tank measures 48" x 24" x 12". The top surface of the stand is not perfectly flat but is very close. There is a 1/16" variation in the elevation somewhere near the middle.
The tank has enough flex so that moderate pressure on the tank ends makes the tank sit flat on the surface. Is this enough of a variation that I need to be concerned with?
I would like to hear any comments or suggestions?
Thanks.

1/16" is close enough.....If you can sit it on some foam you will be fine also....

Hmm... I don't know - you may need to have it shipped out here so that we can test it for you.
I honestly haven't the foggiest idea - I just think that it's a really nice setup (and my poor prop tank is overrun!)

That is fine. If this is the first time the tank is setup it would be fine. If the tank had been setup for a while in another location I would be a little more worried, but even then it should be ok. Acrylic is a flexible material it can adjust to that much variation no problem. Getting anything within 1/16 over 48" is pretty darn good. The only way to get better is if you were putting it on a slate table. .
When I am down for Xmas, I could come out and double check for you.

I've got more of a differential on mine and it's fine. I worked so hard to figure the slope of the floor etc. so the tank would be level....turns out the stand wasn't level and it was off anyway, LOL. I had to adjust the canopy to cover the little bit of waterline that you could see on one end.
