I just bought some from Home Depot and what you are looking for is Southdown Tropical Sand. I have the Bar code from the Bag and it is 0 9060420100 2 the inner and outer #'s I am not sure they belong in that code.
Hope it helps.
Also the home Depot I got it from was in Mansfield Ohio... They have about 8 pallets full... they said if you bought a pallet at atime they would sell for $4 a bag.
Again hope this helps

Hi Phil.
I looked for it in about 6 Home Depots in Chicago an nearby suburbs. I couldn't find any. I wrote to HD's internet site. I was given an email address for whoever makes it. I never did get an answer. Sorry I couldn't help.

I haven't had any luck finding it locally either. I believe it's just available on the east coast. Bob

Here is the Southdown sand SKU# 578819.

This is how i finally found it. they can punch that number into thier computer and tell you if they have it, or who around you does and how much.

There is a thread around here about ordering it - whatever you do, do NOT say that it's for an aquarium. You won't get anywhere with that approach. (The sandbox for your allergic child works a bit better.)

That other thread is definitely worth finding... I'll see if I can't get it...

here, and here, and here might give you a start. There are a lot of people who have already tried things - you might find a good start in your own search.

Good luck,
Danielle
