folks, i need some advice, if you please...
my reef has been up and running for about six months now. i've had a lot of success with the corals/animals i've chosen thusfar, but after seeing the wonderful pictures of people's tanks on this BB, i would like to add some more to my tank. here is a list of the tank specs and inhabitants:
100 gallon tank with internal wet/dry
Berlin airlift skimmer
20 lbs crushes coral
60 lbs live sand over crushed coral
20 lbs limestone base rock
90 lbs live rock
2-175W 12000K metal halides
2-40W 03 actinics
pH=8.3
02=8ppm
NH3=0
NO2-=0
NO3-=<10 ppm
Cu2+=0
Alk=>3.6 meq/l
Ca2+=~450-500 ppm
Corals and inverts:
green star polyps
button polys (four colonies)
bullseye polyps
xenia
closed brain
open brain
blue and green mushrooms
moon coral
2 bubble tip anemones
purple tip condylactus
various crabs and snails
4 brittle stars
3 featherdusters
Fish:
yellow tang
pair of clarkiis
yellow-tail blue damsel
coral beauty
i know that my tank can support a LOT more, and my tank looks especially barren when i compare it with the photos posted here and elsewhere. the only problem is that i don't really know what would be a good thing to add next. i would like to add maybe a couple of pink square anthias and maybe some more corals, so would anyone have any suggestions on what to add that would be hardy and add a splash of color to my tank? i look at other people's tanks that are absolutely teeming with corals and other animals...how do you place corals SO close together without have neighbors kill one another? what other fish are good reef tank inhabitants? i'm kind of gunshy about adding another fish since i had to tear the tank apart to remove an angel that decided to eat my corals. anway, sorry this is so long...any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Reefguy! I had the same problem a little while back. It shows for you because of the cookie in your computer. This is how I fixed my problem... Thanks to Drew! (you are wonderful Drew) Sign up at webshots.com. It is real easy and quick. After you have your album, upload your pics from your computer to your album and then click on it to view the pic in full size... right click and choose properties, copy the URL of the pic and then on your post here in the reeftank, click on the IMG button..paste the URL and whoopee.... here you go. TaDaa! Your pic will be on that post. Good luck, Julie

Reefguy,
I am pretty sure that link works, but now the database is down for maintenance. I guess webshots is trying pretty hard to keep you from sharing your pictures. We will all have to wait a few more minutes.

Hey Reefguy, I havent tried loading the pics yet as its late, but I wouldnt add anymore fish, well maybe a few blenny/ gobies that perform work
Add more small corals to fill in the niches that are lacking and have patience. Remember creating a reef environment is a long term project thats more successful if appraoched slowly, rather than loading up like a swim tank
