Barnacles,anenomes,sponges,and oysters?
I was just down at the Gulf of Mexico and picked up a few shells that I thought would good in the tank. One of the shells I noticed had barnacles on it, so when I got back to my friends house I put it in a cup with some water from his SW tank, I have brought it back to NE with me and have had it in quarantine in a seperate container doing daily water changes from my tank. In the past week I have noticed about 10 to 15 banacles, 1 ananome (looks like aptasia) and two different sponges (one is round and white),(the other has a tubular look almost if it would host a critter). To my suprise the oyster is alive and has two or three small ones clung on the the cluster of oyster/barnacle shells.
I've done a lot of researching on all but little luck except the barnacles.
My BIG question is should I enter it into the tank?
Could the Barnacles spread to enomous amounts, like the docks, ect. blocking and covering everything?
I don't suspect the oyster could be a poblem but I don't know much about them. (my research has let me to oysters for food)
I'm not to sure about the sponges I know some come in on LR but since the location where I picked it up.
But of course the anenome would go.
Any feed back for cations or go aheads would be appreciated.
Thanks for Helping

I personally wouldn't risk introducing a pathogen or contaminant into my reef... considering that all of my rock/corals/etc have been "sheltered" as it were, from the wild for so long.
Spanky and some others who do more wild collecting would know better than I...

Most of the rock is Atlantic vovaln live rock, 90lbs is Kaelini live rock, few pieces of tonga branch, I picked up maybee 30lbs of completly dead marshall Island rock and put the nice pieces in there for show. Its been almost a year and there is some fans on them along with coraline algea.
Here is a pic of the 54lb Alantic I took plenty of pics trying to get a good one here is the best I could get (trust me more colorfull than the pic).
I've had it for 2 years this spring. First had it in 55g before I went with the 180.

I picked it up at a pet store in Bellevue NE. (Bellevue Pet Center). Great people there, they know alot. As for the rock being dense not to bad, when I was buying it they wanted to give me the eel that was in it, he was about 2 1/2 feet long but could'nt see it untill you put your hand in the water, talk about vicious. I did'nt want that in the tank. Its not the most porous rock I have but its pretty good.
