I recently was given a
peacock Mantis shrimp from a fellow reefer and I obviously didn't want it in my main reef tank. Wouldn't see it in the refugium or sump, sooooooo time for another tank. I wanted to plumb it to my sump so I used a
power head to feed water and put a 1" bulkhead throught the side to return water to the sump. I didn't actually drill a hole I ground a hole with a diamond tipped dremol tool. These were the cheap set form Harbor Freight Tools. I think I paid $2.99 for a mixed set of 10 bits. It took about 15 minutes but it worked like a charm. There was no cracking of chiping of any kind. When I have a chance I'll post a picture.
It was definately worth the risk for a $10 tank.
