Want to see a gaxaly grow?

A month ago my Galaxy spawned in my tank.(If you don't know when they spawn little shafts with little heads pop off the main coral.)I gave the coral to a freind om mine. Now it is growing fast. At first there was just on head. The it grew a little shelf on the side. One at a time heads started to grow now there is 6 heads on it. Very neat see this grow. Here are some pictures of it. The first pic is the main coral. Hope you like.

Hi Frank

Thanks for the pics!
Polyp-ball formation is always a wonderful thing, hehe.

P.S.: Can I ask for permission to use your pics for an online project I'm starting? You would get caption-credit, and the photo would be hyperlinked to any website of yours E-mail or post here if this is okay with you.

Again thanks for sharing your pics with us here on thereeftank, and don't be shy to send us more!!! hehehe

What beautiful pictures. I have a galaxy for about 2 months and recently had some of the individual polyp colonies die-I don't see brown jelly or anything. I am not sure whats up with it. Can you describe where you keep it in you tank, the lighting and the watermovement? Also your feeding schedule. Thanks

Great pics Frank. I just got a Galaxia about a month ago. Was there any indication beforehand that it was going to release a polyp?

Boy, those are great pictures! My Galaxia Coral pretty much looks like the one in your first photo. But I haven't noticed any growth on mine yet. What was the time period that it took all of the growth on yours to occur? I am also wondering if your success had to do with placement or something. Mine is nearly at the bottom of my 24" tall tank (with good water circulation though). From your photograph, it is hard to tell if your Galaxia is on the top, middle or bottom of your tank. I don't usually directly feed my Galaxia; I figure its getting the leftovers of the Coral Heaven I have been feeding the rest of my Corals (about once per week). Again, thanks for sharing those photos. It gives me something to look forward to with my own Galaxia. I guess I had always figured my Galaxia wasn't going to grow much. I especially didn't know that it could do anything as exciting as what your photos are showing.
