Coral banded shrimp are supposed to be reef safe right?

I had a CB shrimp in with a couple of cleaner shrimp and the CB was quite aggressive and territorial! My wife has one in her 20 gallon reef and has not bothered her clowns! They are a beautiful shrimp!

IME, they are not safe with other shrimp. Mine ate a couple cleaners and peppermints, until he was eaten by my eel, he was great.

Ok, I should clarify.....

They won't eat my coral will they? Reason I ask is, I have one now and I JUST added a rock with my first coral in a small nano tank. He is going nutz running all over the rock lunging at things. I am PRETTY sure that he is going after little pods and stuff, but ever so often he looks like he is pinching my corals. I just wanna make sure he isn't trying to eat them.

Thanks

I have had CBS in every reef setup I have ever owned and have never know them to eat corals. Your assumption about the pods is most likely correct. And they will decimate a pod population in your reef.

I currently have a very large mated pair. The LFS owner didn't really want to sell them to me cause they had been returned for allegedly eating two small fish (I say allegedly since I don't know if they really killed the fish or was just caught scavaging the remains). Well I talked her into selling them to me anyway. Has a been a great addition to the tank. I do have a Longnose hawkfish and a small 6 line wrasse. They are both still alive and kicking.

I really only like them in mated pairs. I do also have a tried and true formula for making a mated pair out of a single male and a single female. It really can be done although most will say it can't.
