Too much calcium?

Hey guys- I picked up my calcium test today from the LFS- It's Seatest, not Salifert (SP?) but oh well- I didn't want to wait another week for it to come in- I just did the test and my calcium level is 495- In your guys' experience, what is the ideal calcium level for a tank that's got green star polyps- some unidentified polyps, and unidentified anemone, cleaner shrimp, snails and a decorator crab? Thanks a million guys!!

PS. the decorator came with deep sea gorgonian (SP?), polyps (2 colors) and some sort of sponge (bright orange) that's all doing well- polyps are out on his back and the pieces of fan have their white part out to get food-

Not a bad way to spend 5 bux eh?

Keep me posted on the calcium level and thanks!!

Jennai for me the ideal calcium level is 450 no matter what u keep. You are a touch high but nothing to really worry about

With a high calcium level you just need to watch your alkalinity because they can cause calcium precipitation if both become high.

well, I'm not sure how it got that high- I have dolomite and LS and LR- unless it came from there, who knows as I tested my water and there isn't any there- (tap water I mean)

who knows
