pH calibration solution

I need to buy some more calibration solution, but I find that all of the online retailers seem to sell those single use packets. Is there a reason not to buy a 4oz bottle of the lab grade stuff? There are some laboratory supply companies that sell that for about $3-4 a bottle, which would only be about 4 packets of the single use satchels. What are the downsides?

Thank you, I do have borax solution made up, but it should only be used to verify or use as the high setpoint. I still need to buy the 7.0 solution

Call Hach, they sell PH calibration "powder pillows" for making calibration solution. You can go to thier website and do a search by "parameters" PH... Then click on "Buffers, pH standardization " ... It will show you all of the powders and liquids they have available for PH calibration. In order to see prices online you will have to "register" with them.
