Well, we were gone for the T-giving holiday, so while I could read up on what to do, I couldn't manage getting it done...the eggs hatched on schedule, the 8th night, last night.
I also realized we have True Percs, not False Percs, for whatever that is worth knowing...interesting for me.
However.....I learned these guys lay eggs every two weeks...and I also realize now that they've probably been laying eggs for quite awhile and I just never noticed before...we did catch them in the act of laying, which is the only reason we knew there were eggs there. They hang around the yellow polyps 24/7 anyway, and there's been a bare spot on the
polyp rock for ages, so I guess that's their egg-laying spot.
If we can get a green water "factory" going, and raise rotifers, I'll let you know and see what happens. We can raise brine shrimp successfully...done that a lot in the past.
The video of the egg laying is pretty cool. They synchronized very well according to the book's description of the process.
Take care,
Shirley
