detritus

What is it?

Where does it come from?

Why can't everything disappear as commonly suggested by several folks?

Remember when it used to be called "mulm" in our fish tanks? I always hated that word; detritis sounds much better

Everything in my tanks produces detritis of some sort. From fish poop to coral slime to 'pods molting to bacteria processing. You have to remove that stuff.

That reminds me, my kids need to syphon the detritis out of their rooms today LOL

Dr Ron said that if it built up then there would be islands made of it, or something like that .

I saw a cup in my son's bedroom the other day, Alice. When I looked inside I noticed what appeared to be green mold. I asked him what the heck this was,and he said " oh that was orange juice in there about 3 weeks ago ". Would this qualify as detritus?

One man's detritus is another man's nutrients.

LOL on the mold! Make sure you tell him that being a scientist usually doesn't pay very well. You want to make sure he can take care of you in your old age!
