Hi there! If this is a new tank it is part of the cycle process and not a thing to worry about! You can siphon it off with a turkey blaster and add some snails and get a detritvore kit from http://www.ipsf.com or http://www.inlandaquatics.com.
It will go as quick as it came. Just let your tank cycle!

yup, had that with the first tank i setup, my current tank is going through it as well. sounds like a diatom bloom. it's not really an algae, but usually get sclassified as an algae. diatoms feed off silicate in the water. once they deplete the silicates they will dissapear. also another type of algae will form that will feed off the diatoms, and snails are good too

Completely natural - just wait till the green algae bloom hits in a couple months, that's when the fun begins...

lol until you told us about the avatar in the who are you thread, i always thought it was a pic of you in a dive suit taking a photo of something on the beach
oh yeah, btw: i've got a tippman 98 custom with a flatline barrel system not the greatest marker in the world, but i like it. i'm not too serious about PB though.. we jsut got out on the weekends in the summer and get together in the woods. i HATE speedball fields. being a former ranger, i enjoy the cover of the brush, and the thrill of the hunt.. besides, i really suck at speedball too

leesster - goto your "User CP" then to "Edit Profile"...towards the bottom they have where you can add your owen avitar or change it to a pre-picked one...
