water movement

i have had discussion during the june 1.5 meeting about a diffrent and inovative way to create a large amount of water movement in the aquarium at a small cost. This device commonly referd to as a Carlson surge device is a great way to get a lot of bang for the buck. There are a few considerations that make this setup great for some and not so good for others. The bigest factor is the ability to have room for the device to operate and to be hidden. The best case would be to have somthing like this in a built in tank. I will post several diffrent articles and ways to do this and everyone can feel free to coment.

this is what i was looking at being a better option than a closed loop. it has a more random type flow pattern and if you look at the utube video closely he has three on his tank.

he is another way to get a large amount of water movement, i dont know if you like diy but if not you can go in the 500 bucks for the tuze model. this way causes no bubbles but requires a diffrent kind of skills to build. i like this way a lot more becaue of overall size and you might see me trying one of these on my tank.

Ive built the DIY swirl stein's. Highly effective in the random current department, with no micro bubbles.
I had pics, but I deleted them. Sorry.
