I have no issues with nuisance algea in my 55 gallon tank. I have an assortment of
macro algea that ties up the fish by-products. My lights are on over 12 hours per day.
Wondering if anyone else has macro algea they would like to trade.
I have Codium, that is rather small-branched because of the amount of light it recieves. My hippo tang munches on the "fuzz", but doesn't seem to hurt the plant. Codium will attach itself to most substrates.
I also have what appears to be Halymenia of some sort. It does not have a holdfast, but tucks in nicely between live rock. My hippo doesn't eat it at all, but yellow tangs reportedly devour it.
