MSX Cone Skimmers

Alright Rob, I pulled the trigger and ordered up the 250 with the extended neck. Perhaps I'll start a new thread when I get it installed and running. It should be a beast!

How's the skimmer doing Hop?

It rocks... i had a small issue with the factory mesh, but I fixed that over the weekend and it is doing incredible!

Here is a shot of it running:


And here is a test run with about 12oz of skimmate from my previous skimmer

I am... It seems to smell worse is the only thing I noticed between the two

I have noticed that the MSX skimmers pull out stuff that smells far worse than any other skimmer around. If it smells that bad, I'm guessing it doesn'e belong in my tank

I just got it working on the tank well this past weekend. Not to poke anything at Marine Solutions, but the factory mesh had some issues. One wheel's mesh was too small and one was really out of balance. To their credit, they include enough mesh to redo the wheels. ultimately after some serious attention to detail I have two modest mesh jobs, pulling about 38scfm each and the thing is rocking... I have not really tried the pin wheels that were included with the skimmer, but I'm happy with the purchase now
