Interesting. I assume these bacteria don't bother live animals or they would not be on the market. Assume.
Li said he was not going to pick up the other part. I did not have a chance to get the why. Probably because he wants to get the tank looking good as fast as I do and we all know phosphate remover can do the job; tried and true. I would like to give the zeo bacteria a chance again in the future though. I think it is dangerous for an LFS owner to get too jaded against new products. Most new products are a bunch of hokus pokus, but not everything. I see plenty of owners unwilling to go to needle wheels and T-5 still... I fear becoming that person.

It is all done in Flash so I cannot link you to the exact page, but look at the Bacterial Products and then at the Gravel Substrate Cleaner product. They also have a few more products listed in that category such as Nite-Out.
They have been a major water treatment and conditioning company for many years and it appears that they are now wanting to expand into the aquarium hobby side of things as well.
Update. With all the extra nutrients in the water, we feel like we are fighting a loosing battle. Also, we aren't far along in the tank so there is an opportunity to fight the battle hard.
We pulled the fish back to QT and are going to give Zeo further testing. Watch for updates
PS we didn't pull the hawk... you try to catch him! ;p
Well, once we figured out what the issue was, we whipped on a huge thing of GFO and killed the lights for a few days. I am happy to report the system is back online. I am unhappy to report there were some losses. The flame and raccoons did not make it through the QT. We weren't able to get the second half of the zeo in time and so our testing will have to wait for the next system.
We got a HUGE Spotted Unicorn in recently. We just don't have a qt for this large of a fish. We gave it dips and moved it strait into the 300. Its not an ideal way to work, but sometimes you have to make do. He is a bit roughed up and breathing hard, but it is fat and we think he will pull through. Fortunatly we are closed Tuesdays and he will get a full day of rest before the lights go on.
I am happy to report the Monster is recovering nicely. He still likes that corner, but is making sweeping passes around the tank every so often. His colors are coming back as well as breathing at a normal pace. I still don't see what Jeff likes in this fish... but it is definitely an impressive animal!
Now that everything is clean we are going to run copper while putting the new additions in. That is one of the great things of having a fish only system. The negative is, of course, you cant have any of the cool inverts. We removed all the urchin, snails and stars.
The good news is we were able to sell them the same day we pulled them
