New to the area.....

Hello all, my name is Ray and I moved to Taylors a few months ago. I have been into salt tanks for over 8 yrs now. I have had as many as 12 tanks running at once ranging from 2 1/2 gallon nano to multiple 125 and 175s. I have done fish only tanks to full blown reef tanks in the past. My job has moved me to five different states since 2005. I am not moving from this area. Everytime my work would move us, I would sell everything and once we got to our new location I would have to start all over again.....

I am currently starting all over again. I have a 50 gallon tank with 220 watts of PC lighting. Running a freedom filter (overflow, filter, and protein skimmer)

I currently have had this tank running for close to six months. I have 100 lbs of live rock in it. I only have a Clarki, Scooter Blenny, and about three small Damsels in the tank currently.

I have a had a really tuff time finding any local store that has a good selection of healthy critters at an affordable price. I used to get alot of my stuff via WAMAS (Washington DC Area Marine Aquarium Society). So here I am, starting over again.

Welcome to TRT Ray! Glad you found us.

How do you like that Freedom filter? I remember looking at one of those a couple of years ago, but just never pulled the trigger on the purchase.

Somebody closer to you will probably chime in soon about the LFS near you. We do have a thread in this PMAC forum with some of them listed you may want to take a look at that.

Also look for the thread about the upcoming meeting in March.

Thanks for the welcome. I like the frredom filter so much I wrote an article about them and they use my testimonial in their advertising.

Hi Ray and welcome to PMAC and TRT I'm sure you'll love it here.

As mentioned, you should try to make it to the march meeting. There are lots of reefers in the area that have frags for sell or trade.
