So I bought a new setup and have started setting it up, but still have a lot of work. The setup came with a AGA 125 RR tank, stand, canopy, AGA 40 long without any chambers for a sump, excalibur skimmer, pumps, heaters, powerheads, etc, etc and a AGA 29 with stand and eclipse hood (lighting and filtration). I am hoping to trade or sell/buy for a larger skimmer. I'll probably eventually buya bigger pump too. I'm going to use a 4 foot nova extreme 8 bulb t5 fixture and hope to later add a single 250w MH retro for an end dedicated to SPS. I'm still bating whether or not I should setup the 29 as a QT.
This weekend I turned the 40 long into a real sump, by adding baffles to create 3 chambers. left chamber is for the skimmer and heaters, center return and room for additional equipment later, and right chamber is a fuge (currently planning chaeto and LR, looking for info on mangroves). I'm hoping to get eggcrate cut for the bottom of the tank tonight to keep the rock off of the glass and then hope to start adding the LR, LS, and some water. I'll add the rest on the water on Tuesday when the LFS opens since I don't make my own yet.
