Hi. I'm new here.
Hi guys. My name is Lance . I'm a college student up here at Clemson. I'm from Charleston, SC.
I was just browsing through ReefCentral and found this club.
As for tanks, I have a 54 gallon FW planted, a 10 gallon nano reef, and a 20H nano reef, all at home. When I came up here, I set up a new 10 gallon nano reef in my room.
I love ricordea and mushrooms so if you have any you don't want ( lol ) you can give them to me or I'll buy them from you but I don't have that much money right now because I'm a college student and they steal all my money.
In my ten gallon up here I have all corals, no fish, and 4 hermit crabs and tons and tons of pods-
Corals-
- Cabbage Leather frag
-Kenya Tree frag
-Monti cap frags (very small)- green, red, brown
-Button polyps frag
- Green star polyp frag
-Red (like really red) mushrooms
-Blue/violet mushrooms
-Various odd discosomas
-3 polyps of red/pink/green/white (colorful) sanctithomae
- around 20 ricordea floridia polyps, lots of colors
I am very impatient so I frag mushrooms and ric's often. I'm going to build a frag tank in the near future or over the summer just for ricordea and then I could maybe spread some around with you guys, but I do plan on selling these on like RC later on. I can help you out if you have any questions on corallimorpharian fragging.
Here's some pics of my ten gallon nano up here-

Pics taken with my phone. If anyone is interested I'm willing to part with my kenya tree (one big piece and one smaller one on a different rock) and my cabbage leather. And if anyone wants a piece of grape or feather cauerlpa LMK.

Hi Lance and Welcome to TRT! Glad you found the PMAC section on here, they are getting things going as quickly as possible with a meeting coming up on March 15.
My name is Michael and I am "always" on the prowl for ricordeas, so when you have some of those you want to let go just let me know about it and we can work something out.
You found a great site here with an awsome group of friendly people and a wide range of expertise, so do not be afraid to post questions about anything at all. You will not be flamed for it here as on some of the other forums out there.
Take care.

Thanks guys. I'll try and make it to the meeting if I'm not to busy.
Michael- within the next couple months or the beginning of summer I'm planning on making a 48''x12''x6'' frag tank solely for ric's with a 2x 54 watt T-5 IceCap retro lighting it. Right now I'm experimenting with the ric's I currently have. Some I have cut and they have healed in 3-4 days max and others I am feeding to see what method works best/fastest.
I thought of this a couple days ago-
If you have any extra rics you would be willing to donate, I could take them, acclimate them to my system, frag them, and once they heal give you back one and I'll keep the other to frag (so if you give me one, a month later I'll give you the same one back and keep the clone, since I cut in halves). That way you won't lose any and if you want more of it I would have a couple to give you (like if you just wanted more, if your cautious about fragging, or if your tank crashed or something like that).
I just cut a steel blue ric yesterday and once it heals I could trade you for a color I don't have, if your interested. You can see the two halves of the steel blue on the sand touching the little snail shell on the last picture, bottom right next to the sanctithomae. They are kinda a teal/blue color. I love ricordea .

Hey Lance, I may be able to just send you some as I have a "slight" over crowding problem, here are a couple of examples for you.
And another huge rock:
They all look peachy brown in my tank, under dual 150 watt 10k halides and dual 96 watt actinic PC lighting. Tony, Fat Tony on this forum, will chime in later I am sure and tell you how they are actually blue, purple, and green, once you get them out of the bright lights. He has 2 of them so far and is seeing what they will do in his tank.
So, with all of that said I am interested in any other color besides peachy brown.

Welcome to TRT and the PMAC Lance... indeed i have a couple of those in my tank, and they are blue, purple and green..LOL I wouldn't mind letting you cultivate them for a while.. i just got one from Aquawolf last night at the CMAC meeting in Columbia. It is mounted on its own reef rubble rock so it's free to go. PM me for info on how to get in contact with me. I will be gone through next sunday, but we could get together after that if you want to make a trip to G'ville

Wow That's a lot of yumas. I don't know how well a yuma will do in my tank. I have one in there that for some reason isn't doing so well but as you can see all of the floridias are doing great.
I've been meaning to head up to greenville to check out aquarium oddities.

You are more than welcome to try. As Tony stated he can give you the one I just gave him yesterday, as he always knows where to get more if he needs or wants them.

Ok I guess I can try since you have tons of them.
Do AO and/or Ocean's Floor have any ric's? The lfs I always go to in Charleston when I'm at home has lots of corals but they rarely ever have rics because they are relatively expensive whenever they get them and don't sell them (~$40-65 a polyp).
Also-
Would anyone like to do a group buy from http://www.coralfanatics.com/index.html ? I was checking it out and I'd like to get one or two of the rics but I'd like to save on the shipping if a couple more people want to join in. Or should I start a new thread?
