April group buy for salt!
OK, since the Aquarium Specialty group buy is on hold, I've been looking around for something that everyone can use - salt. Drs. Foster and Smith are having a great sale on Instant Ocean and Reef Crystals. They also don't charge extra shipping for heavy stuff like salt, and shipping maxes out at $18 when ordering over $260. The best deal would be to buy the 160 gallon bucket. Instant Ocean is $29.59 and Reef Crystals is $31.99. So what does that mean? Well, If we order at least 9 buckets, the prorated shipping would be $1 per bucket - that's an IO bucket for only $31 plus tax. Seems like a great deal to me. Anyone else interested? We could order it with pickup at the next meeting.

Please respond ASAP, I will be closing this group buy on Friday April 4, 2008

I usually use IO, never tried reef crystals. Think I should? I'll buy a couple buckets either way.

I don't think it makes a huge difference, but that's just my opinion. I've never used Reef Crystals, but wouldn't be against trying it out either. I've always used IO and have never had any problems with it. I would want one bucket - so, the bucket count is up to 3. Who else wants salt?
If people want other stuff too, I guess we could figure out a way to work that out as well. What we would have to do is to consolidate all the orders and put it on one credit card. Alll people participating will have to pay that credit card holder before the order goes out, or make some arrangements with him.

I will go for atleast 3 Buckets myself.
1-IO
2-RC
Personally I use a 50/50 mix of Oceanic and IO at the moment but I am thinking of switching totally to RC over time. I will have to do a little more reading, and them I may change my oreder around a little but it will still ba atleast 3 buckets.

OK Chris, thanks for posting.
Bucket count is up to 6. Three more buckets and we will hit the $1/bucket shipping goal. As a reminder, this will be the last group buy available for everyone interested before we go to the paid members only goup buys. However, I do encourage everyone who participates to please join the PMAC and pay dues.
Also, please keep in mind that ALL of the buckets will be shipped to ONE address. You can pick up the buckets either before or at the April meeting.

Hoang, I will pass this time, but will be interested in putting together a big order in about 4 more months, might try to do a big order as part of MACNA in Atlanta since I'll be down there anyway.

Bugger! Looks like I just missed the buy :P
If you're still taking orders I'd like to get a bucket of I.O.
