UPDATE: The ballast came in ahead of time and I'm back to full lighting.
Regi - the PJ is really small and I don't feed a ton, so he can't purge what he doesn't eat.
What am I doing wrong with my thread here? Most people are 10 pages of posts and I am on #3 or #4....only 2-3 people really watching.....I have a tag line in my Signature....I don't get it. Have I dropped out of the cool kid club again?

Congrats on getting the ballast early Scott. Don't fret the post count. Most of the ones you see with a high post count (probably including mine) are where people are just chit chatting.

It seems to come and go in spurts. My tank thread got a bunch of hits and then died off. Then, out fo the blue it took off again. I have no idea what prompts the activity around here, as everyone has different things they like to look at and read about.

UGH....I think the dreaded ICH is trying to move in on Mike and Ike.
PJ looks fine and I am hoping it is just stuff stuck from them being on the bottom and on the rocks. All my parameters are fine at this point. Perhaps they are just stressing late.
I'll keep an eye today and tomorrow and if it gets worse, I may swap PJ for a cleaner shrimp.
Nothing is exploding in growth yet, the Gorgonian is fully polyped up though. I think he had to get used to the flow.
The pink Zoas are starting to get a little bigger, but no new polyps yet. Its sister colony in the other tank is about the same, so no worries.
One of the front rocks is really porous and when I placed the xenia, it sort of sunk into a hole, then came back up through about 5 holes....weird/neat.
On the new inhabitant note, I have two more colonies of Zoas that are almost ready to come over (they are in the main tank and are migrating a few polyps to new rocks!) I have a great Pink Ricordea with 3 mouths, if it would JUST split already!

work? what is THAT?
Seriously, it was tough at first when the tank first arrived, but now I check it in the morning, at lunch, and before I leave. If I am on a conference call, I sometimes watch it then.

Any updates on the Ich situation? I hope everything turns out okay.
I also am one who would never get any work done if I had a tank in my office. Well, at least non tank related work.

The Ich fear seems to have subsided. I have seen both Mike and Ike and both are looking just fine!
On an awesome note, my new camera is due tomorrow and I have seen what it can do for Macro shots, wait until Wednesday or Thursday and I should have some nice shots.
REALLY need to bring in a credit card to clean my round corners though. Anyone else have round corners and an easy way to keep them clean(er). the smallest mag-float doesn't quite do the trick.

Can't help with the rounded corners, but will be eagerly awaiting the new pics with your super duper new camera.

New PIX 6/25/08
Bear with me, learning the new camera. BTW, for those interested, it is the Canon PowerShot SD850IS Digital Elph. About $230 at Amazon.
Xenia Pajama
Mike Micromussa
Hammer(time)
Misc Corals (includes the Green and Pink Carnation Poxis, GSP and a small view of some Pink Zoas)
More later when I get the Macro/Zoom/Focus/Flash all worked out.

I like catalina gobies... hope you have continued success with them. I know they prefer cooler temps, but I've seen folks keep them for quite a while, so good luck. And nice pictures!

Still no ideas on cleaning the corners on a regular basis.
I am thinking about a really small tuxedo urchin, but I know that he will do some bulldozing. At least they like the "harder" algae....

Ike MIA
So I haven't seen Ike in several days. I fear that ICH has taken him. PJ and Mike seem fine and are showing no ill effects. Maybe he just meandered into Chamber 1 or 2. Will keep my eyes peeled (ewwww) for him.
I think I need to get a few more hermits for the tight spaces. Hard to feed since it is so small. May try to cut the mini cubes even further. I had worked out a way to open all cubes, let them thaw, then refreeze in a flat sheet so that I could chip off smaller amounts. I may go back to that.
on vacation next week, so an officemate will be feeding and checking topoff and temp. I'll have access to email so she can ping me if she has questions. Just a little nervous.
