Like I said it SHOCKED me, and I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I just wanted to mention their name in respect for being so customer oriented, and going above and beyond in my book.

Everything is looking good! Score on the credit!!!
Just a bit of nit picky placement advise, try move the tank up to the edge of the stand when you are done with the fresh water test. May not look better but it crossed my mind that it might.

Thanks for the compliment.

The stand is design to support the tank best were it is right now. I did move it to the front before adding water and it just didn't look right to me. Something about having a small shelf behind the tank just looked kind funny. It will look better where it is at once the trim and front face of the stand are finished...............I hope, LOL.

So far no leaks!!!!!!!!!!!

Got anymore info on these skimmers? I looked into a few, but they just seem so small that it hardly seems worth the money for the size of the collection cup...I'd need to empty it like 2 times a day....

So far everything is working pretty good I think. The pump seems to be moving a decent amount of water, but it might not be enough once the live rock is added. The water level has stayed the same. I'm not sure what the water temps are we need to get a thermometer this weekend when we get the salt water. We haven't been running the lights because I was under the impression that running them would cause alge. If I'm wrong please let me know and I'll start running the lights.

BTW I switched the bulbs around like you told me to Wiskey.

So far we still don't have any leaks!!!!!!

Thanks for the info, we checked that skimmer out after reading your post. I think that will be the skimmer we end up running, as long as our mentor approves of that skimmer.

Ok here is our list of things to pick up or do this weekend:

1. get salt water for the tank

2. get sand (any recommendations on how many pounds we will need for a biocube 29)

3. get some live rock

4. get some live sand from our mentor

5. pick up a thermometer (which one work the best)

6. order our skimmer

7. finish the stand

I think thats it, but I might have forgot a few things.

I was suggesting that you run the lights so you can check for temp of the water, and see if you need to add fans to the back or not,.. I wouldn't worry about algae at all, you'll be draining the tank soon to fill it with salt water anyway.

Cool deal, so your fans come on with the Atinic bulb now right?

So I'm the mentor eh? Well,.. I'm not sure about your choices

I don't like that skimmer either when compared with the Tunze skimmer which is the same price.

Doesn't the DOC require mods to the lid?

From what I'm told, yes, but I think it's worth it from what I've heard about the DOC Skimmer.
