Quick Warning to all that purchase the AQUA POD! (As quoted in its website) Please read the recall on this tank. If you are considering the purchase of this perticular aquarium online or a mail order purchase; The recall was for the lights - power cords. PLEASE check with seller that the one you are purchasing that the recall issue has been corrected. Aside from that, it is a great lil aquarium.

True,.. I beleive if your's has a serial number then it's okay. The problem was that if you plugged in one of the light cords, then touched the other one you would get shocked. Old Custom Sealife light systems did the same thing (that really hurt).
The recal was done some time ago, I would immagine that all the defective systems out there were long replaced.

When I first caught wind about this issue a week after I purchased my cube I thought i was going to die! I was upset but when I went to the companies web page that made these things I quickly realized that I was safe. I am not sure if there are "strays" still on the shelves...hopefully not!

I plan to post some pics as the stand is being built, I'm finishing the final design right now, then off to the store for some wood .
The only mods I have planned right now are opening the first over flow, and maybe a skimmer. Not sure yet.

Wiskey - I agree, so when you stop by we will jump on the net so you can help us figure out which skimmer (size and quality wise) will work the best for our system. Since you have way more knowledge about SW stuff then I'll ever have. I know you want me to run a sump, but we are going to wait till we do a big tank then do a sump system............But if ya wanna make a car go, I'm the guy to talk too.
fish.freak - I assume the skimmer you mentioned is a HOB or is it an in-tank skimmer? I have seen some people that have fit a skimmer (2 or 3 different skimmers fit I think) in the second chamber of the tank. I would kinda like to find a good one that I can fit inside the tank, or I will need to redesign my stand.
BTW - I'm heading to the store very soon (less then an hour) to get the wood for the stand that I just finished designing. So if anyone knows the answer to the in-tank skimmer question post up soon please.

The CPR SR2 is in sump and should fit in w/o any mods. I had the bacpak which was HOB, but its the same skimmer more or less just with different mounts and pump location.

So the skimmer will fit in the back of my tank, and I don't need to run a sump to use that skimmer?
When I was looking at it online it looked to big to fit the tank, it looked to me like I needed a sump to put it in. So I take it that its smaller then it looks?

I helped one customer set it up and it slid into the empty bio cube at the store. Call the company and get the measurements just to be sure.

Thanks that what I needed to know.
Well I have all the wood to build the stand and as soon as my wife gets back from the store I plan to start building.
I will take a few pics along the way and try to bribe my wife into posting them while I build. I hope to start and finish the stand tonight! If all goes well we will be adding water in the morning to test for leaks. Then after a few days if we find no leaks its time to dump the tank out and add salt water.
Can we use tap water to test for leaks, or do we need to use some kind of filtered water?
We are getting closer!!!!!!!

The stand is 80% done, all we have left is the trim around the edges, the front face, and door. I'm going to try and figure out how to load a few of the pics yet tonight (this morning, LOL). But more then likely they wont be posted till my wife wakes up and post them.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP TONIGHT WISKEY!!!!!!
Thanks to your help we can put water in the tank and test for leaks, then finish the stand after we know the tank is all good. Alright now to nuke up a snack and see if I can figure out how to load the pics.
