I thought about going with the MH but 2 things made me decide otherwise. First I was a little concerned about it making the tank temp to high, and one of the fish I'm thinking about getting can jump out if there isn't a lid. The second reason is plain and simple cost , its cheaper without the MH. And if money wasn't a concern I would just by a certain tank that I now is for sale a build a BIG reef tank. So sadly I have to watch my budget pretty close, which means a small tank and no MH for me .

Oh well,.. No big deal,.. The MH is cool, but you really don't need it.

Well all I can say is that I'm glad my wife decided she wanted to be part of this build. She told me to stop and pick up a tank tonight. So I stopped at the LFS then called her. I told her which of the tanks they had that we had been looking at. She ended up telling me to get the Biocube 29 gallon. And to think when I decided to do a nano tank I was only getting a 12 gallon, now that she wants one too we get a 29 gallon.
I hope to start building the stand this weekend. I already have a design in mind, just need to do a little measuring.

Nice Score the 29 rocks, there are so many mods you can do to it! It will be much more stable for you! There is a CPR SR2 skimmer that can fit in the back, when your recover from buying the tank.

I would say you have no idea, but I'm sure you've had that feeling a few times.
I've been reading up on the mods people are doing to them, so I have a few ideas. The first thing I'm going to do once the stand is done will be modify the first tier dividing the filters.

Hmm,... Have I been there?
Okay,.. the 180 took months to get going so yes, I've been there,.. but not with my nano
I think the most helpfull mod you could possibly do would be to get a skimmer on that thing somehow.

I was trying to find out what skimmer works best with these tanks and fits nicely. I have read about more then a few people putting a skimmer in the first or second section of the filters. I'll check and see what brands they are using and go from there. That was the second mod I have planned.
But first I need to get the stand built, only one more day and the stand build begins!!!
