hey guys, tanks still alive. don't have anything more than the camera on my blackberry, so no quality pics to share.
lost my sps's, but kind of expected that.
the soft corals are still doing fine under the LED's even with the neglect the tank has gotten lately.
otherwise, things are semi stable for me, to be back on track this November- ish.
I'll see if i cant get a camera bought at some point...

I'm ok. Slowley trying to piece whats left back together. Have a new home in the works and some new life rules concerning how I share my life with others.
so... other than re-defining jaded, ill be ok by spring.

Current pictures by request...
tank has been moved TWICE now, and is back on the kitchen counter in my new place.
first FTS from 7.22.08 (shot with blackberry phone cam, see why no pics...)
next one is from today. I gave it a quick pass with the mag float, so some stuff is pissed off, but you get the idea (this one is shot with a borrowed Cannon A1000):
Tank gets basically no maintenance, other than the near total water changes over the last couple months as I've moved around.
Bottom line, LED's DO grow soft corals (id say more if you added more power) and look great doing it.
Thanks for asking about things guys, I think things are back on the right track for me...

The macro algaes were a recent arrival...
the purple stuff in the middle and the chato were not intentionally added, but have bloomed since i changed water sources.
the Kenya tree is at about 2/3 size since i angered it, and the awful pic from the phone cam shows the size of the mushroom.
not viewable is a colony of tiny yellow feather duster like worms under the purple macro. again, nothing I added, they just appeared after 10-11 months...
I need to replace a bit of my cleaning crew, but other than that the tank is super stable.

OK, so its been nearly another year. everything still alive but the toadstool leather.
here's the major news for the tank: I found a 10G flat back hex at a yard sale over the weekend for 15 bucks, so the nano is moving to better looking diggs. (acrylic from plastic, nicer hood....) corner distortion is a minus, but I like the new tank better than the minibow in every other way.
anyway... got everybody moved, got another 7 lbs of rock from FAOIS and got a couple more corals - a toadstool to replace the fallen, and a pretty orange Florida ric. Also awapped out the koralia nano, for a koralia #1. gives me about the water motion I had in the 5G, in the 10G.
I have ordered up a pair of powerbrite 10k add on bars, and will have them in the hood next week.
so in a nutshell.... an LED powered nano works. period.
as for this little experiment, its doubling in gallonage, and trippling in light this month.
as for me? its been a good year. In a new relationship with a good woman (apparently I'm learning impaired, LOL), back in a decent house, and enjoying my tank again. sweet eh?
