Parasite's nano build

Well I'm going to try this nano thing one more time. I'm hopeing that this build off helps me stay diligent this time. I have had this 5.5 gallon set up twice befor with poor results. Last time I had everything housed within the tank with the lt rear corner sectioned off to hide the heater and power head.

The new plan==
5.5 gallon more than likely BB with cutting board, drilled for sump.
5-7 Gallon bucket sump housing Heater, return pump, Posible refug.
HOB filter and return pump for flow.
Possible skimmer in sump.
Not sure on live stock yet.
I know I'm forgetting somthing.

Thanks,
Brett

Here is what I'm starting with, I need to rebuild of repair canopy. It is swollen and split in the corners.

Brett,

You got the nano/pico bug (I could tell based on the questions you asked at the meeting and NIMAS board).

I don't know if you'd need a skimmer if you just do the weekly water changes and keep bio-load light (without fish). I wouldn't add fish until a month or two after the tank's been up...

Well I love haveing a tank in the bed room so I'm going to get this to work sooner or later. As for the fish I'm thinking none, but I know my wife will be pushing for 1 or 10 lol. As for now I'm thinking shrooms, zoo's may try LPS. My big thing is to take it slow I tend to rush with projects.

In the bedroom you may not want a skimmer. The venturis can be pretty loud at night with no background noise...

Thanks all.
For right now I'm going skimmerles for cost reasons. If I keep on the water changes I should be ok. I think with the sump it will be easy. Also I won't have to top off several times a day with doubling my water volume.

MWC has PC retro reflectors I have seen them but only 36" you could just cut to size...

If you don't want to go to MWC try hellolights.com

Thanks Kelli, I'll let you know.

Here are some pics of the start of the plumbing and sump. Still not 100% about spliting the return or just using 1. Also wondering how many micro bubbles I will get with the return pump.

Thanks,
Brett
