Well got the overflow cut and the most of the plumbing done. I am haveing a problem with the overflow making a flushing sound. I'm hopeing that reducing the size of the drain tubeing will help it.
Will post pictures soon.
Brett

Alright, some pictures of the test tank when we tried to drill it. And the new one that worked out better.
Thanks to Grallster for all his work on this.

Here is the tank after painting the back and the plumbing. I will be changing the drain plumbing on the back to try to stop the flushing sound.
Thanks,
Brett

Well I go the plumbing done today and put the water in. I had to put together sort of a durso on the back side of the tank and change the drain line from 3/4" to 1/2".
Pics. soon.
Thanks,
Brett

You shoulda put a link to this in the club forum--I just found it! I did an external durso on my frag tank and works good--is this what you did?

I have the link in my signature. Yes Dave I did a durso. I had to mess with the drain/durso alot to get it somewhat quiet. I don't mind the sound but with it in the bedroom it drives the wife nuts. I got some water and rocks in but still need to pick some up at Preuss on Sun after the frag swap.
Here are some updated pictures. I'm still waiting for my new reflector to show up, but I put the lights in just to get this going. I'm useing a 7 gallon bucket for the "getto sump" but I think I will have to end up building one, I'm getting mico bubbles in the display.
Plumbing and sump,

That is an interesting sump setup! I was thinking that a filter sock on your drain might help with the microbubbles. Since you already have an HOB filter on this it shouldn't be too worried about extra filter pads in the system. A sponge on the return pump might also help. My 50G had a 4G bucket sump for a little while, and it was doable.

I do have the filter sock on and it has helped. I need to find the sponge that I have around here somewhere. I'm also sure that some of it is just from being a new set up. The sump is hidden with a clothes hamper so it is not always seen in the room, It would be an eye sore. I'm tring to keep cost down and use alot of things that I already have, hence the bucket sump.
Well here are some shots of the tank. I made the stand out of 2x4s and base moulding and the canopy out of base moulding and 3/4" strips.
Thanks,
Brett

Looks great!!!! Another thing you might try to do is put the drain in a cup in the sump,.. this will tend to make the bubbles go up, then the return can pull from the bottom. I had to do this with my 180.
