Nanoquatic's Nano Build-off Entry
Hello Everyone,
I would like to enter my 14g Oceanic Biocube to this contest. I purchased the tank on 1/20/08, and recently put 28lbs of LR & LS into the tank, and I replaced the bio-balls w/ LR rubble. I don't have any fish or corals yet, but I will have some pics in here real soon of the empty tank.
Planned Corals:
*Australian Big Polyp
*Neon Pineapple Tree Coral
*Green Striped Mushroom
*Taro Tree Coral
*Evergreen Starburst
*Christmas Tree Coral
(NOTE: all current plans are subject to change, and will post as soon as they do)
Planned Fish:
*Court Jester Goby
*Tank-bred Clownfish
PS: GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! I can't wait to see the progression of all of our tanks, and I also would appreciate any suggestions and advice along the way (my first Nano Reef).

Welcome to the contest and TRT. My only suggestion is to take it slow.

Welcome to the build and TRT... I would like to be the first to say we are visual creatures of habit, so the more pics the better

Can I throw in a word of advise: Court Jester Gobies are very difficult to keep alive....esp in a new tank - they will generally eat only hair algea. Don't buy one unless you see it eat with your own eyes.....don't take the word of the LFS. All that being said..... I think they may be my favorite fish......they awesome looking

Oh, I didn't catch that.
I thought they ate Pods though? Anyway, definitally a difficult fish to keep alive in a nano.

I am actually near UIC, but the Northside is not too far away (especially when we are talking bout Green Striped Mushrooms).

Just a tank shot of LR, still got a lot of work to do before adding any fishes or coral into the system. Notice the white "shelves" are actually base rocks that hopefully will get seeded real soon, and I have them there for pretty much a shelf setup design w/o restricting flow. Ignore the digital thermometer, it won't be there for long.
NOTE: Will be adding more pics after I learn how to take better pics...sorry for the poor quality.
