Dr. and Mr. Phishnoob's 28 gallon bowfront

Cynthia and I are in it to win it with our 28 gallon bowfront. Our goal is a very simple easy to maintain tank that we can easily move with happy tankmates.

We plan to do this with easy to take care of fish, inverts and corals backed up by minor mathematical, engineering and veterinary technology.

This will be a Remora HOB with PC lighting and some common sense done up classy that will double as our main tank.

The first obstacle is figuring out how to post real pictures. The tank was 99 bucks on clearance at Petsmart.

Game on!

Oh yeah I painted the back so all the junk would not show. No idea what that mysterious red orb is in the middle.

Good luck but if you want it cleaner don't use a Remora!I had a pro C and it didn't work as good as the Coralife and it was cheaper too.

I already ordered the plain Remora and the optional cover that goes over the Maxijet 1200 and it will be here Tuesday. I was so happy with my Pro on my 55 since the company sent me a free O ring when mine broke, so that 89 cents got them repeat business.

Got a little Dremel and measuring/cutting action going now. Whiskey (no relation to the moderator) Dog helped out to cut this into a two part section from white eggcrate that fits the bowfront. A bit of spraypaint and Voila.

The tank will be moving from the office to the pretty spot as soon as I get the carpets cleaned (and the future Mrs. Phishnoob gets done packing up ornaments).

I'll have to cut this a little and touch up paint when the skimmer goes in.

Okay the tree is down, carpets are clean and we got the tank moved. We had to match the dining room decor and lucked out on the perfect stand made of real wood...also on sale at Petco. The tank just sort of goes, which is tough in our little spot.

We just went to Mexico and at the Cancun airport I was supposed to pick up a big bottle of vanilla extract. This appears to be some sort of concoction to inspire us with our aquascaping by mistake. No idea how it happened but it appears useful.
