Thanks for the answers. I am going to straighten mine out right now in preparation for the rock arriving tomorrow.

Just snug the screws to the pump. If you over tighten you run the risk of cracking the prefilter box.

Here is a picture of the front now that it is installed correctly.
Here is the side view.

Yup...that's it. Looks like they changed the lid on the collection cup. Man, that pre-filter box takes up so much less space than the one for my Mag 3 did.

Yep I had the pro with the Mag 3 in my 55 and it was ginormous and ugly. This box is pretty much invisible from the front. The homemade bowfront eggcrate piece will fit right over it with some trimming and it will be pretty tidy. There is a lot of tough competition and gobs of equipment is not going to be the way to win this competition.

Well the rock just came in from Premium Aquatics. These are cool pieces but not aquascaped yet. Cynthia wants to do that this evening. The pieces smell really fresh and have gorgeous coralline all over the pretty sides. I'll post another picture this evening. Hopefully there will not be much of a cycle on this. I'll test tonight and for the next week or so and see if anything happens, and see what the skimmer does.

I got 24 pounds. We are going for a sanitary look and I am leaving room for cleaning the sides with open sand. There is really no reason to use lifts since these are all interesting pieces that will stack with open space in the middle and the sand bed is really shallow.

Cynthia got her paws wet and did a great job with the aquascaping. I hope my skimmer is not going crazy this weekend and there is not really a cycle. This tank needs stuff now.
