Tank is looking nice Chris. As far as the maxijet is concerned, do you feel like you're getting good flow in all corners of the tank? IME, a maxijet 1200 has a strong but narrow stream, and in a 10 gal tank, tends to create a whirlpool effect. You might want to consider a Koralia 1 or nano, or you could mod the maxijet with a $25 kit for a wider flow pattern. That's just a suggestion, but if the flow pattern is already OK, then don't waste your money buying new stuff.

I'm finding that the 50w heater I got isn't enough
but the tank is currently in the 60 deg basement

oo ya im not going with a retro fit because im not that confident with my wirering skills so ill just get a fixture its the same price

I have been keeping sps for a little while now, Im no expert though.
Good flow, heavy skimming, strong light, and lots of calcium.
Do you have any specific questions?

Yea if they aren't too close they can take it, you just have to try it and see what happens. Watch the polyp extension, and the color over the days following the adjustment.
