I hit a piece of acro in my 50, accidentally broke it so I stuck it in the 10. it's only about a half inch piece. Will be cool if it makes it.

Great looking build!
Did you ever decide on lighting? If not I would seriousally recommend against the Nova Extream T5. I really liked your origanal plan of using MH, a 150W HQI fixture would also do very well for you I think.
If you are planning to go SPS with this tank,.. I would spend the money up front rather than worrying about it later

If I had a 150W HQI setup laying around I'd slap it on my 10G

on a setup that small you could use a 5 yr old bulb as long as it would fire

Lol,.. I think those 150's are about perfect for a 10G,.. or a 20G, but I would probably think twice about using it on anythign much bigger without supps anyway.

Oh,.. ya I agree for sure,.. But if you look at the par output of a 150W HQI 14K it's pretty low,.. I wouldn't put just one of those over a 29G 30" tank for example and expect it to light the tank well enough for SPS at the bottom.
